The Corn Mill Studio provides self contained accommodation in one of the oldest buildings in Auchencairn, built in the early 1700's. It has a very solid quietness surrounded by wild nature at it's vivid best, lots of birds, plants and beautiful landscapes to enjoy.

We have one bedroom that can sleep 2 people. It has a double sofa bed with memory foam mattress.

It is a cosy bedroom for 2 to share, not much room to manoeuvre, but very comfortable for sleeping and relaxing. It has 2 reading lights, a desk and two chairs with a deep set window looking out onto the stream that used to power the old Corn Mill.

The Studio area has a 'day bed' sofa that could suit an extra person to sleep.

The open plan studio kitchen has one large table allowing for creativity and play, we hope you'll make yourself at home- a good space for writing, drawing, painting, printing, still photography, cooking, eating and playing board games (we have a good collection!) There is a Smart TV Monitor and Xbox3 (a few games and DVD's available).

The fully equipped kitchen has plenty of room to make delicious meals from our local produce for one or a family. It has a washing machine/dryer, fridge with small freezer compartment, 4 hob electric cooker/grill and stainless steel sink. We also have a toaster, espresso coffer maker, popcorn and candy floss machine!

One bathroom with an electric shower over the bath, medium size hot water immersion heater, sink, toilet and heated towel rail.

Towels and bedding provided.

The garden is unfenced, bordered by large deciduous trees; it has a lawn, organic permaculture herb borders, a spring water burn runs through and there's a clothes drying whirligig for your use. It is adjacent to the beautiful big community permaculture garden with edible forest fruits, shrubs and flowers for all to enjoy in summer and autumn. It's a BBC Beechgrove Garden!

There is limited wifi accessibility or mobile/4G coverage in the Corn Mill Studio (due to the very thick old stone walls), but fast, free WiFi is available in the village shop cafe and 4G is good outside.

The Corn Mill Studio has green energy electric central heating throughout, which gets nice and cosy, and it stays naturally cool in summer.

Built in the early 1700's the building is solid and atmospheric.
The continental breakfast provided is delivered to your kitchen and includes locally produced foods, we can cater to any dietary requirements, so please let us know what you like to eat. Breakfast comprises of cereal (gluten free is our speciality and we provide a Coeliac friendly kitchen), local non-homoginised organic milk / non-dairy option, toast and fresh butter / non-dairy option with local jam, honey or marmalade from Seville, Spain, (because it is the best marmalade on the planet). Fresh espresso is possible with our stove top steam percolators, traditional breakfast tea and herbal non-caffeinated options and pressed fruit juice are also provided. All to be enjoyed in your home from home, eat in or out in the garden.

The quality of light in Auchencairn is special.

Wade in or Dive of the rocks further along the wee peninsula, its a very safe place to swim and the water is often warm from the heated sand flat at low tide.
